July 15, 2026 : Taylor Farms first received traceback and epidemiological information from the FDA and CDC indicating that certain lots of iceberg lettuce originating in central Mexico might be associated with a Cyclospora cluster found across five states. July 16, 2026 : Discussions about those questions continued with federal officials, including personnel from the FDA, HHS, and the White House. Taylor Farms also decided that day to issue a voluntary recall extending beyond the individual lots identified by the FDA. The company recalled all iceberg lettuce sourced from and processed at its central Mexico facility, describing the broader action as being taken "out of an abundance of caution." Customers began receiving notifications that day.
July 17, 2026 : The company publicly disclosed the voluntary recall and launched its own internal investigation. This date is generally referenced as the beginning of the Taylor Farms Cyclospora recall.

What Is the Current Status?

Taylor Farms also says its own testing has found no positive results among approximately 2,000 samples collected in central Mexico since May.
For the rest of the growing season, Taylor Farms has stopped sourcing iceberg lettuce from central Mexico. Its leafy greens are currently being supplied from the United States and Canada.

Consumers trying to determine whether a particular item falls under the recall should note that it is limited to iceberg lettuce produced through the central Mexico facility and distributed mainly through foodservice channels. According to the Hub, only a small number of Marketside-branded retail products sold at Walmart were involved, and those items have already been taken off store shelves. Products that were not marked "Product of Mexico" were not included in the recall.
